Confessional Lutheran faith
The Gospel gives our school its center.
Veritas stands on Holy Scripture and teaches in accord with the Lutheran Confessions, so families can know clearly what their children will hear and learn.
A Christian school should speak plainly about its confession. Veritas is a ministry shaped by the faith of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Our teaching is governed by the prophetic and apostolic Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and informed by the Lutheran Confessions collected in the Book of Concord.
Holy Scripture
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. Scripture is not merely one source among many for religious reflection; it is the rule and norm by which Christian teaching is judged.
The Triune God and the saving work of Christ
We confess one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, true God and true man, lived without sin, died for the sins of the world, rose bodily from the dead, and will come again. Sinners are justified by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, for Christ’s sake alone—not by their works, merit, intelligence, or achievement.
Word and Sacrament
The Holy Spirit creates and sustains faith through God’s Word and Sacraments. We confess Holy Baptism as God’s gracious washing of rebirth and the Lord’s Supper as Christ’s true body and blood given and shed for the forgiveness of sins. The school teaches this faith; the administration of the Sacraments belongs to the pastoral ministry and life of the congregation.
Law and Gospel
God’s Law reveals His good will, curbs wrongdoing, and exposes our sin. The Gospel announces what Christ has accomplished and gives forgiveness freely. Keeping this distinction clear shapes both instruction and discipline: sin is not excused, consequences can be necessary, repentance is real, and forgiveness is never earned.
Christian vocation
God serves the world through ordinary callings in the family, church, community, and workplace. Education therefore prepares students not simply to achieve for themselves, but to become capable neighbors who use their knowledge, speech, work, and freedom for the good of others.
Parents, congregation, and school
Parents have the primary responsibility for the nurture and education of their children. The school serves alongside families and the congregation; it does not replace either. We want parents to understand our confession clearly, ask honest questions, and know what will shape their child’s daily life at Veritas.
A clear confession offered with charity
Students will encounter Lutheran teaching directly in Scripture, catechesis, prayer, hymns, chapel, classroom conversation, and the way our community practices truth and forgiveness. Families considering Veritas should expect that clarity and are warmly invited to discuss it with our school and pastoral leadership.
